Ok…An update…let’s do this kind of quick since I’m at work, I’m on three hours sleep, and I have a midterm that I’m unprepared for in an hour and a half.

Last week Monday was pretty sweet. I went to the Democratic Governor’s Association Fundraising Gala as a volunteer. I basically just had to stand outside the room for an hour, and then I got to go inside and eat. And man did I eat! I had about 80 dollars worth of sushi, tons of sandwiches and appetizer stuff. I had a bunch of berries and fruit and cheese which was amazing. Not to mention I was eating all of this food while talking to the Governor of Iowa’s wife, or meeting the next Governor of Indiana. I also met Colorado Governor Bill Ritter who struck me as especially nice. It was an awesome event.

Tuesday was also incredible as I had an opportunity to sit down and talk to Former Governor and Secretary of the Homeland Security Department Tom Ridge. He was awesome. I really like him. I was able to discuss some real policy stuff with him for about 10 minutes. The man is sensible. He’s not the biggest wonk around, but he’s a rational man. I enjoyed talking to him. Afterwards, I got to attend an interview between Ridge and my Professor for Bias in Media. So that was real sweet as well.

I had my first week of rehearsals last week and they’re going pretty well. I’m getting used to rehearsing again…it’s kind of weird. I love it though. It’s so sweet to have to learn and sing theatre music again…instead of just singing it at the top of my lungs when my dorm room is empty.

Thursday my darling girl Melissa came in. Her plane was about 20 minutes late…which was awful. Like I didn’t miss her enough. She walked around the corner lookin all cute…But I digress.

Our weekend was awesome. Friday, I took her on a private tour of the capital and we went to the Air and Space Museum so I could get some extra credit. We saw this incredible movie on the Mars Rover…which I remember nothing about.

Oh…by the way…March 2, last Friday, was our ten-month anniversary. So I took her to a nice Italian restaurant. You see, my girl’s kinda tricky…she’s tricky cause she’s picky. She’d be happy with a burger or chicken fingers. So the food wasn’t really the highlight of the dinner for her I don’t think…but then again, it wasn’t for me either.

But the food was absolutely delicious. I had Gnocchi made with Ricotta…it was SOOOO good. Also, the waiter totally brought out the fish of the day…on a platter! It was real sweet. I don’t think it made Melissa too hungry, but I was almost tempted to order fish. Ehhhh…I know when I take my mother there she’ll get the fish.

I wanted to take Melissa to the ballet friday, but couldn’t get the tickets. Then I wanted to take her to a basketball game, but I had the start time wrong, so we just went shopping a bit and then rented “A Road to Perdition.” One of my favorite movies that I haven’t seen in forever.

Saturday, my darling and I went to my rehearsal, then a meeting with the Black Student Union President. Following those things, I took her to Georgetown and we spent the evening there. Then at 8 we went to see Zach Galfinakis at Lisner Auditorium. He was hilarious. The opening act was a little too vulgar for our taste (and classless…lacking sophistication…not really funny…) but Zach was incredible. Ya’ll should check him out!

Sunday, we just hung around my room and Sunday night she left. It was one of my best weekends in D.C.

Now this week kinda sucks. Ok…it really sucks. It’s midterm week and I have SOOOO much work to do. I have one midterm today, two tomorrow, a paper due Thursday, a 1-page memo due thursday…blah blah blah. I was up until 5 am last night (this morning) and I am completely drained. But I figure, as long as I can last till thursday, I can come home and sleep all I want!

So tonight I have my midterm, and then a rehearsal…then I’ll be studying.

OH! NIAGARA WON THE MAAC! AND I WAS ABLE TO WATCH IT ALL!

In other words, it was a while before I got to studying.

So…I had written my initial analysis of the Republican candidates for President, but I lost the entry. So I’ll have to do it again when I have some time. It should be coming soon.

Thanks for reading.

God Bless.
