Andrew Stumper

Andrew Stumper’s blog, despite my earlier slam of one of his posts, is a good one.Check out this entry. What do you think?

Andrew Stumper just doesn’t get it.And by “it” I’m referring to a number of things, not to include the fact that he “gets” that he is continuing the concerted media effort to criticize, demonize, persecute and belittle Christians and their religion.Mr. Stumper takes up the latest anti-Christian nugget which is Mike Huckabee signing onto a change in the constitution of the Southern Baptist Convention to add the words “a wife should submit graciously to the servant leadership of her husband.” To Mr. Stumper’s credit, he includes a lengthy, multi-paragraph statement from a former leader of the SBC to explain the quote to Stumper. The description is apt, and I suggest if you have read this far that you click on the link above and read the short article. First of all, the addition to the SBC constitution is a quote from scripture. There are millions of married couples who live out their marriage in accordance with Ephesians and it is the role God designed for married couples. Therefore, it is not the woman who follows this verse, but the woman who disowns it who is not living up to her full potential as a woman. It is the man who rejects that truth who is not living up to his full potential as a husband. It also appears to be lost on Stumper that this was not a change in Arkansas law, it was a reaffirmation of a Christian truth inserted into the constitution of the Southern Baptist Convention. Now, not only is Christianity unacceptable outside of the church, but it is now unacceptable inside of the church as well. For those of you who have not heard, Huckabee’s new National director for his campaign is Ed Rollins. Rollins is coming out of retirement to run Huck’s campaign. Rollins is a veteran and a hard-baller who ran Reagan’s 1984 campaign and Perot’s 1992 campaign. It is a big pick-up for Huck.I will be back tonight hopefully with my thoughts on the Republican race.
